Carapac

Carapac

Carapac has developed an innovative, sustainable packaging alternative for single use plastic that is made from crustacean shell waste. The crustacean shell waste is broken down using our novel, zero waste, and sustainable chemical process. The shell waste is used to produce a simple-swap ocean dissolvable plastic solution that can replace flexible, semi-rigid and cling-wrap packaging. Our packaging is naturally antimicrobial. We are initially targeting the fresh food market and can offer cost savings and mitigate methane emissions by naturally extending the shelf life of food by an additional two weeks. Carapac’s novel packaging can be used for an extensive range of applications. Consumers can dispose of the packaging by planting it where it will break down in 3-6 weeks into a fertiliser.
