About this event

You’ve built your MVP and gained good traction for your startup. Now it’s crunch time and you’re ready to raise your series A – but with changing economic conditions, investors are taking longer to make investment decisions and conduct due diligence.   Now more than ever, founders are expected to prove that they not only have a great idea, but the fundamentals of a great company.   The reality is that less than half of all seed-funded startups will go on to raise another round. Even those that are hugely successful with their seed round often have trouble securing their series A, simply because the investors have higher expectations and there are fewer check writers to fund the round. You have to demonstrate how you’re going to use your funding to raise revenue, stand out from the competition, and prove that you have what it takes to build a global business. And that’s when having the right knowledge and preparation makes all the difference.   In this Lunch & Learn session, we’ll explore the key considerations you need to have in mind going into your Series A raise. Join impact investor Rachel Yang from Giant Leap and KPMG Australia ESG and finance specialist Josh Geelan as they discuss:

  • The key information investors expect to see at for a Series A versus Seed round
  • How to build a robust financial model that shows you can turn traction into revenue
  • What great looks like for a Series A raise
  • How your teaser and IM can be a strategic lever to drum up – and maintain – investor interest
