Position Overview: We seek a mid-level, full-stack software engineer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in full-stack software development, a track record of success in startup environments, and a passion for environmental conservation. This is a unique opportunity for an individual eager to join the founding team, contribute to a meaningful cause and work on new and exciting technology.

Responsibilities:

• Full-Stack Development: Lead the development, testing, and deployment of scalable and high-performance software solutions for data and analytics in biodiversity conservation.
• Potential Team Leadership: We will be expanding our engineering team over the next year and are looking for someone who can foster a collaborative and innovative work environment.
• Technology Stack: Utilize your expertise in front-end and back-end technologies to ensure seamless integration and functionality across the entire software ecosystem.
• Start-Up Experience: Leverage your previous experience in startup environments to drive efficiency, adaptability, and creativity within the engineering team.
• Independent & Eager Learner: Stay abreast of the latest technologies, tools, and methodologies; embrace continuous learning to bring cutting-edge solutions to the team.
• Passion for the Environment: Bring a genuine enthusiasm for environmental conservation and contribute to developing software solutions that positively impact biodiversity.
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, biologists, and product managers, to understand requirements and translate them into effective software solutions.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Proven experience (3+ years) in full-stack software development, with expertise in both front-end and back-end technologies.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript (React, Typescript, Node.js), and experience with databases (e.g. PostgreSQL).
• Previous experience working in a startup environment showcasing adaptability, creativity, and a solution-oriented mindset.
• Passion for the environment and a strong desire to contribute to a mission-driven organisation.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
